This book is different from the several other war books written by the author because it chronicles the story of the Gozo Airfield that up to now remains the only airstrip to have ever been laid in Gozo. The author writes about the need for the airfield and its construction by the Americans as well as about the sad demolition of the renowned Gourgion tower which Grand Master Adrian De Wignacourt had built on Gozo in 1690, in the locality known as ‘Ta’ Lambert’. The other chapters of the book are also interesting, and narrated anecdotes reflect first-hand evidence of diary entries, make it even more engaging.
