Restoration of the 18th century clock mechanism at the Cittadella

The restoration on the 18th century clock mechanism at St. Michael’s Bastion, in Cittadella, was inaugurated by the Onor. Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri, on 18^th August 2020. As inscribed on the mechanism, the clock was assembled by one Giuseppe Muscat in 1774. The restoration on the clock mechanism was entrusted to C. Schembri Watchmakers whilst the restoration on the two stone dials, the wooden dial, the tower, and the wooden beams supporting the striking hammers on the clock tower, were carried out by Ministry for Gozo employees.
