The Directorate for Cultural Heritage (Ministry for Gozo & Planning) is currently undertaking a major upgrading project on the 360° audio-visual experience within the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre. This week 16 lamp projectors which have provided a reliable and incessant service to over 585,900 visitors during the past 8 years, are being replaced with LED type technology. This latest hi-tech version on the market, whilst is significantly more energy efficient, provides a more effective and sharper better-quality images to the existent visual experience.
Installation works and alignment settings on the visitors’ centre walls are projected to be complete by the end of this week 7th September 2024.
Consequently, in the coming days the audio-visual experience section will be closed to the general public. The first area of the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre and other HM sites will remain accessible as per usual opening hours.
