Għajn ta’ Bendu, a freshwater spring, is situated right opposite the Għajn il–Kbira in Pjazza l-Għejjun. In 2022 part of the roof of the site collapsed and as a precaution it was immediately closed to the public. At the same time the Fontana Local Council submitted an emergency application to the Planning Authority in order to carry out repair work. All the work was completed by the Restoration Unit of the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo.
