The Directorate for Cultural Heritage within the Ministry for Gozo has placed 4 benches near the fountain in the main square of the Citadel. The Administrative Office of the Citadel had been receiving continuous feedback on the need for benches, both from tourists and from the locals. And the idea was to follow the common practice in European cities. Besides serving as a relief for the people, these benches give a richer appearance to the same square.

Talks were held with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, a tender was issued, the contractor was chosen, and the process of manufacturing the benches was carried out, which it is safe to say will be unique for this square. The benches are made of marble, wood and with an iron back with a design showing the Three Hills. The design is the work of Creatit Studio.
