With the aim of continuing to strengthen Carnival in Gozo as a cultural activity that attracts an audience from Gozo, Malta and abroad, and therefore also gives an economic contribution to Gozo, the Ministry for Gozo is launching a scheme through which the intention is to assist Carnival designers/organizations to rent premises that can be used to build the floats.
The premises must be rented for a period of up to a maximum of 3 years, which can be extended on an annual basis. Each applicant can be reimbursed up to a maximum of twenty thousand euros (€20,000.00) per year, including VAT, which covers the rent of the premises. The Scheme will be open for three (3) months only from the date of publication.
The Ministry for Gozo will appoint a Selection Board. From the applications that come in, this Selection Board, on behalf of the Ministry, sees that the same applications meet the eligibility criteria.
The application is made online on the website https://gozo.gov.mt. In this same website one will find attached the Guidelines and Regulations of the Scheme, including the eligibility criteria.
